
About this Role
The Health Coach works alongside individuals, whānau, and the wider health team to support people in improving their health and wellbeing. The role focuses on empowering clients to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and self-management strategies needed to achieve their health goals, navigate health and social services, and actively participate in their own care. Through a holistic, culturally responsive, and whānau-centred approach, the Health Coach contributes to improved health outcomes, wellbeing, and equity for the communities served.
Key Responsibilities
Coach and support individuals and whānau to achieve their health goals.
Connect clients with health, social, and community services.
Build trusted relationships and provide culturally responsive support.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service quality and reporting.
Work collaboratively with whānau, community partners, and the wider health team.

What We're Looking For
A people-focused approach and passion for supporting whānau wellbeing.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of tikanga Māori and culturally responsive practice.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full driver's licence and basic computer skills.
Desirable
Experience in health, wellbeing, or community services.
Proficiency in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
Knowledge of outcomes reporting or Results-Based Accountability (RBA).
