The Kaimahi Tautoko position will be responsible for supporting whanau enrolled with Oranganui o Nga Whanau service by addressing their needs and building their confidence to achieve their goals resulting in resilient and independent whanau, by having a deep understanding of the current issues whanau face on a day-to-day basis and will focus on the strengths and assets of whanau.

Pre-requisites for the position:

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant qualification/experience in the social services industry.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with Whanau, Marae, Hapu and Iwi development.

Skills

  • Interpersonal skills, with an ability to liaise confidently and professionally with wide range of people and cultures.

  • Organizational skills, with an ability to cope effectively with changing priorities and environment.

  • Time management skills.

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in the use of all Microsoft suite applications.

Cultural Commitment

  • A commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and Tīkanga Māori.

  • Compliance and Requirements

  • Current clean full driver’s license.

  • Police vetting check with no history that would require exemption.

Professional Development

  • A willingness to undertake professional development/training relevant to the position.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work autonomously and in collaborative teams with other health professionals to promote health, prevent disease, and improve access and population health outcomes for residents in the Wairoa disctrict.

You will utilise your advanced nursing knowledge, diagnostic reasoning, therapeutic knowledge, demonstrated competence and legal authority to practice to provide patient-centered healthcare services including the diagnosis and management of health consumers with common and complex health conditions.

Nurse Practitioner

Pre-requisites for the position:

Personal Attributes

  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Nurse Practitioner.

  • Evidence of experience working as an independent practitioner.

  • Holds a current annual practicing certificate as a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team.

  • Demonstrate time management skills

  • A commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and Tikanga Māori

  • Current Full Drivers License

  • Police vetting with no history that would require exemption.

  • Experience in the use of all Microsoft suite applications

  • A willingness to undertake professional development/training relevant to the position.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of local tikanga and Māori culture, ensuring respectful and appropriate responses to Māori.

  • Is visible, welcoming, and accessible to Māori consumers and their whānau, fostering respectful relationships and actively collaborating to enhance the Māori experience.

Mobile Nursing - Health Team.

To work in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a holistic primary mental health and addiction service to tamariki/rangatahi ages 12-24 years who are experiencing a low to moderate level of distress. The service will be rangatahi and whānau-centric, safe, effective and achieve positive outcomes.
Kaiarahi Rangatahi will offer rangatahi peer support and work in partnership with other members of the Mahea team to empower, motivate and build the resilience of rangatahi and support their journey towards achieving Mauri Ora.

Pre-requisites for the position:

Personal Attributes

  • Awareness and commitment to Māori health under the Treaty of Waitangi.

  • Support for biculturalism, multiculturalism, and Rangatiratanga.

  • Understanding of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

  • Experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau in education, health, mental health, or social services.

  • Ability to build trust and meaningful relationships with tamariki/rangatahi and whānau.

  • Strong networks within the tamariki/rangatahi sector.

  • Skilled in connecting tamariki/rangatahi with appropriate services for positive outcomes.

  • Effective in motivating, educating, empowering, and supporting whānau.

  • Team-oriented, fostering Kotahitanga.

  • Confident in facilitating hui with whai ora and their whānau.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Commitment to professional development.
